Ye Olde Pillories

I has pillories to accompany my stocks, too~ X3
there are my second build, which I think turned out very very nicely! The hand ports are perfect, in my opinion, at least for me and my dainty wrists. Folks with larger wrists can also benefit from the fact that these have a little bit of wiggle room in the hinges, meaning that the size can expand slightly for people who need it. And the neck port is also of a most appropriate size. =3 And lookie! I even bought me a special medieval padlock to go on this one. Much like the stocks, these also have supports allowing for iron stakes to be hammered in and immobilizing these. =3
I really wish I had me a router I could trust for cutting a straight line, as I would have much preferred cutting a dado into a 6x6 as opposed to nailing there 2x4's together. As such, this is not quite as sturdy as the stocks, but trust me, they'll still hold up to a struggling, ticklish victim quite well. BD And of course, my pillory/stock building career is nowhere near finished~ My uncle was real impressed with these and the stocks both, saying I have a knack for constructing things despite having no prior exposure to the field. Very encouraging. ^w^

I'll take more pictures of both devices in the Spring, when the leaves are on the trees. Shoulda done that earlier in the year anyway, except the pillories I only finished yesterday. XD
At least it was sunny out. =3 You know what they say, it's always sunny in New Mexico! Unfortunately, I live in Tennessee. X3 But, it was sunny at least. One more thing I feel I should mention is that these things are heavy! They were a bit of a drag lugging them around the yard and between the crud around the door. These things are at least a good 70 pounds! Xo Or maybe like 50, but so awkward to lug around... Or maybe I'm just weaker these days than once formerly. XD
